Text Box:   Defence Institute Of Advanced Technology, Deemed University   Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, Deemed University, Pune is a premier organization under the Ministry of Defence, which came into being in 1952. In 1967, the institute was re-located in the picturesque surroundings of nature at Girinagar, Pune. Over five decades of its existence, the Institute has trained defence officers from across the globe in specialized fields, providing post graduate level training. This ISO 9001:2000 accredited Institute has become a centre of excellence for R&D activities & acquired the status of a Deemed University in 2005, offering its expertise to the civilian world as well. The university offers Ph.D programs, 14 long courses leading to M.Tech & M.Sc degrees, 15 short courses & tailor made courses for specific requirements.   Defence Institute of Advanced Technology is committed to creating a 'Centre of Excellence' for education, training & research in contemporary & futuristic technologies by way of continual improvement & constant innovation in materials as well as intellectual infrastructure towards customer's delight.       Institute of Marine Engineers (India)   The Institute of Marine Engineers (India) is a Learned Professional Society established in 1980, with the aim to promote the scientific development of Marine Engineering and facilitate the exchange of ideas. Presently the institute has over 9500 members and provides a monthly technical journal to update the latest technological developments in maritime industry. It also publishes books for marine engineers and has collaboration with similar institutes abroad. The Institute also has a Benevolence Fund to help Marine Engineers in need. The Institute is committed to “be the Premier organization and Resource for those engaged in the practice of Marine Engineering and allied subjects and lead the profession globally.     IWCEM2010   IWCEM2010 will cater for “Global” participation to achieve technology excellence for efficient maritime operations. While the reputed invited speakers will share knowledge during the interactive sessions, selected personnel involved in operations, academics and R&D, as well as students will present their expertise through oral/ poster presentations. The planned Global Expo will enhance the exposure of participants to the state of art products for marine applications.
